SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING HIGH SCHOOL COURSE - SEMESTER

  • SUGGESTED GRADES: 10-12

This course is designed to give students a background in digital marketing and an introduction to the rapidly growing and evolving career field.  Students will be exposed to the fundamental concepts and principles of the digital experience, focus on the learning tools and skills necessary for solving business problems, and developing marketing opportunities. 

This course will provide practical experience in eCommerce, media planning, branding, online advertising, digital campaigns, social media business simulations, and mobile media.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP (Entre 1002) | Weber CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT - Semester: 3 CREDITS

  • SUGGESTED GRADES: 10-12

Students will gain an understanding of the marketing and management principles necessary to start and operate their own business. They will develop an awareness of the opportunities for small business owners and develop the planning skills needed to open a small business.

Students will become aware of the traits and characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. Students will gain an awareness of the knowledge needed in research, planning, and regulations affecting the small business and the means of financing a small business. They will understand the specific strategies of business management and marketing and the economic role of the entrepreneur in the market system. Entrepreneurship is designed for students enrolled in business and marketing education, and/or other courses, who have an interest in developing the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for successful entrepreneurs.

BUSINESS LAW HIGH SCHOOL COURSE - SEMESTER

  • SUGGESTED GRADES: 10-12

Students will gain an understanding of the law as it relates to them currently and the implications of the law in their future lives as well as the lives of their family and friends. They will also work to gain an understanding of basic legal vocabulary.

The course will include an understanding of the court system at the local, state, and national level. Students will gain an understanding of contract law, their rights and responsibilities as citizens, utilization of financial transactions, employment and agency relationships, and the understanding of the regulations governing different types of business organizations. As a culminating project, students will participate in one or more mock trials.

BUSINESS & Media Production capstone HIGH SCHOOL COURSE - SEMESTER

  • SUGGESTED GRADES: 11-12
REQUIRED PREREQUISITE:  Previous business course and BE A JUNIOR OR A SENIOR

In this advanced business course, students will have the opportunity to research and solve real world business needs as they connect with local business owners.   The Business Capstone encourages students to think analytically, logically, and creatively to integrate experience and knowledge in real world situations. Students will develop a better understanding of business operations as they create business partnerships and participate in professional mentoring opportunities. (Video/editing experience welcomed)!
