Anatomy and Physiology Cow Eye Dissection Lab

Submitted by shelley.heaton on Thu, 02/22/2024 - 12:06

Today students from Ms. Suzette Hartvigsen’s Advanced Health Science  embarked on a fascinating journey into the world of visual biology. Ever wondered where the retina is located, what vitreous humor is, or where the optic nerve is positioned? Today, our curious young minds found answers to all these questions and many more.

Our innovative Anatomy and Physiology Cow Eye Dissection Lab was a tremendous success. Students had the opportunity to dissect real cow eyeballs, offering them a hands-on, interactive learning experience. This in-depth exploration allowed them to look closely at the components of the eye and understand their functions.

Engineering Pine Wood Derby Fun

Submitted by shelley.heaton on Mon, 02/12/2024 - 09:25

Engineering Pine Wood Derby Fun

Over the past few weeks, our students have been deeply engaged in designing and creating their own 3-D pine wood derby models. This hands-on project was not only a fun and engaging activity for our students, but also an opportunity for them to apply and test their knowledge of engineering principles, particularly aerodynamics.

The variety and creativity of the car designs were a true testament to the ingenuity of our students. Each student had the chance to experiment, through trial and error, to find the perfect combination of elements to create a speedy and efficient derby car. They all showed such resilience and determination in tweaking their designs to get the best performance possible.
