Happy Halloween From the ASC

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The ASC, (The Advanced Senior Center), would like to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Halloween.

Today started out at 7:30 with the residents (a.k.a Faculty & Staff) enjoying a wonderful breakfast of fruit and cremebroulie french toast , prepared by our ASC chef, Gaye Cook.  There were also fun activites scheduled for noon time, including wheelchair races and bingo.

Our Resident doctor, Dr. Heston Warr, was on hand to supervise these actvities to ensure no one was injured during the races.

Some of the ASC Residents were also honored to have Nebo School District, Assistant Superintendent, Scott Wilson come visit them.

Health Science Classes Tour Weber State University

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Yesterday, the Health Science students from the ALC, had the opportunity to tour Weber State University. The tour included not only the virtual cadaver lab, but also a tour to the newly built simulation lab.  The new simulation laboratory in the Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions is providing a greater level of realism for students pursuing degrees in emergency care & rescue, nursing and respiratory therapy.

The students enjoyed this learning experience and would like to say a huge "Thank You" to Weber State University for allowing them to tour the school and all it has to offer those interested in Health Science .

ALC Gets FACE LIFT... Literally

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Mr. Brandon Arnolds Digital Media class has been busy making some revisions here at the ALC. Those revisions are not on the building, but on the faculty and their faces.

The class says that they plan on doing a poster sized rendition for each member of our faculty throughout the school year. The most recent revision is in honor of our awesome principal, Wade Tischner.

We look forward to the creativity of our ALC students and their future posters.

Medical Forensics get Timeline down to a science

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The Medical Forensics class was recently asked to create a timeline of the history of Forensics. It was amazing to see the hard work and detail that went into these timelines. Natalie Grant, who is the instructor of this course, is always helping the students learn through hands on projects.

It is always fun to see what cool things this class is doing from week to week.
