Hunter Moses, an Entrepreneurship student at the ALC won the Nebo School District Big Shot pitch competition on Thursday, May 16, 2019.  He received $250 for his first-place finish.  This was the first CTE Expo for Nebo School District.  All CTE programs participated in the expo, including Business/Marketing, Health Sciences, Skills & Trades, Family & Consumer Science, Ag Science, and Technology & Engineering.
Hunter presented Mrs. Ewell with one of his beautiful hand-turned pens to thank her for helping him create a professional pitch deck presentation, which he delivered at the competition.  "It's all thanks to Mrs. Ewell", said Hunter of his win.  Hunter is excited to buy more supplies for his entrepreneurial venture, Inkwell Penz (inkwell_penz), with his winnings.  Students in Mrs. Ewell's Entrepreneurship classes use idea generation techniques to create "problem-solutions" for themselves, and their community.  They gain an understanding of the marketing and management principles necessary to start and operate their own business. In this exciting course, students also develop an awareness of their economic role as an entrepreneur through project-based learning. Congratulations Hunter!
