ALC students go CSI

Submitted by preston.powell on

The medical forensics students are currently learning about trace evidence.  In an attempt to get a hand on experience, Mr. Curtis sent them out to collect evidence regarding the many heinous crimes committed at the ALC.  They were instructed to collect ten examples of trace evidence and use forensics protocol to collect the substances.  When they returned they demonstrated proper glove removal to avoid exposure to body fluids and toxins.  They also washed their hands using the nine step process used in the field.  It was then time to process the evidence!  Each student used their iPad to analyze microscopic images, draw out the images, and record their detailed observations of the trace evidence.  Soon the students will place this evidence under the microscope and build the cases that have been a mystery for so many years.  Only time will tell if justice will be served.  In the words of Edmond Locard, known as the Sherlock Holmes of France, “every contact leaves a trace”.
