ALC STUDENTS PLACE FIRST IN CODE CAMP DIVISION

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Code Camp was this past month and many of our students from the ALC attended. Code Camp is sponsored by the Mountainland CTE region, MTech, and Xactware. The students had 24 hours to design an application, create it, and  on top of all that, have working a working prototype.

We are so proud of Matthew Whittaker, Spencer Crowe, Griffin Burnell and Ryan Berger, who took first place in their division. They were awarded their prizes by Entrata CEO, Ryan Bird. The ALC team had 1 student from Salem Hills HS & 3 students from Spanish Fork HS. Their application was 1st place in the business division of the competition. Their was application was designed to look at the blood sugar levels collected by a blood sugar monitor for several years from a person and use software to predict what it would be coming up and to make a prediction on a computer or cell phone the past several readings. They also created a website to market the product. One of the sponsors made a comment to me that they worked really well as a team. and Xactware teamed up to host the Mountainland Code Camp. High School Students from Alpine, Nebo, and Wasatch School Districts participated in the event. The event was held at Xactware’s campus in Lehi, Utah.

WAY TO GO STUDENTS!!!!!!
