CHOAS RUNS THROUGH ALC HALLS

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

For the last two days Choas, Utah County Sheriff's canine officer, along with his handler Jory Provstgaard and fellow deputy, Tony Sorensen (who had to be the guinea pig for the demonstration), came and talked to the students in Mr. Robinson's Criminal Justice classes.

The students loved the demonstrations of how Choas can apprehend a suspect and will keep the suspect in his clutches until his handler tells him to release him.

They talked about how they like to use canines more and more because you can call back a dog after you send them into a situation, whereas if you use a gun or a taser you cannot take back the effects those may do to a victim.

We appreciate the time that the Utah Sheriffs department takes out of their busy schedules to come and teach and demonstrate real-life experiences to our students.

Thank you to Deputy Provstgaard and Choas for coming to the ALC.
