OFF IN THE CLOUDS

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

When you walk into room 162 here at the ALC, you will see many of the students off flying in the clouds.  It's not that they aren't paying attention, it's that they are all part of Mr. Halls Flight Simulator class.

For 2 periods each day, students are able to take this class to learn how to fly using flight Simulation. This is a key element in the progression of becoming a pilot. This course gives these students a hands-on experience, training, and knowledge in preparation for the real-world experiences of flying. Students will learn the basic skills needed to fly an airplane. Some of those skills include takeoffs, climbs, turns, descents, landing, navigating, and much more. Flight simulation provides safe, low stress and cost-effective way to learn some of the basic aviation skills that you will need as a pilot.

The ALC is very lucky to have a full-motion simulator in the building along with smaller simulators for the students to learn on.

Mr. Halls, who is a pilot himself, does a great job teaching this class and we are very lucky to have him as part of our ALC team.
