Vietnam Veteran Captivates Ms. Keetch History Class

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Caitlin Slade in Ms. Keetch's History Class, was excited when they started talking about the Vietnam War. She was excited because she has grown up hearing stories about that war, and she knows personally, a very special person, who gave time out of his life to serve our country in that horrible war.  That special person is her grandfather, James Slade.

For two hours. James Slade, a Vietnam veteran held the ALC students attention as he related his personal stories of his time with the ARMY while serving in the Vietnam War. You could've heard a pin drop when you walked into the classsroom. The stories and visual props he brought with him, were very interesting, and some maybe even a little sad. The students were vey engaged throughout the entire time and many stayed after to ask James questions that they had from the discussion.

We are so grateful to James for taking time out of his schedule to teach first hand experiences from History.

AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE THE FREEDOMS WE DO!!

THANK YOU!!!
