We love it when we find out that one of our amazing ALC students did something awesome. We love to celebrate and recognize them. This is the case recently.
Jesse Shepherd, won First Place at the National FFA Convention for Agriscience, Animal Systems in Division 5.
The criminal justice classes were honored to have a guest speaker come to their classes. The guest speaker was Makale Fitzgerald, a Victim Assistance Program Coordinator at Utah County Sheriff's Office.
Makale spoke to the students about the services the Utah County Victim Assistance Program provides families, in breaking the cycle of violence and becoming independent and abuse-free. Victim Advocates help families access community resources, develop safety plans, and receive education and encouragement to make changes and move forward in their lives.
Thank You Makale, for taking the time to share your knowledge and information with our students.

Virtual Family Mental Health Night – Talk to a Therapist
Congratulations to Rylee Jackson at the Advanced Learning Center for his AMAZING red paperclip trade with Donny Osmond! Rylee's successful trading resulted in a featured news segment on ABC4 Utah this week.
There were many spooks and some really creative costumes roaming the halls of the ALC today.
Many students were sporting some kind of Halloween attire, whether it be a fun Halloween t-shirt or a full-on decked-out costume.
It's always so fun to see what the students come up with. Here are just a few of the students and teachers with their cotumes.
Thanks for the great fun day.
Our Network Pro and RepairWare business students are working hard to improve their IT skills this semester. Mr. Talbot's Network Pro class has been working on building different network media types. They built ethernet cables, coax cables, and fused fiber optics. Network Pro helps students gain the knowledge and skills they need to install, configure, and maintain a network for a small business.
UCAW, Utah College Application Week, was a huge hit at the Advanced Learning Center. From the door decorations, the amazing competitions between faculty and staff, to the many students that applied to colleges, it was a fun week to be had by all.
Huge "Thank You" to Ms. Grant for the effort she put into this week.
Congratulations to the Seniors that have applied and are taking steps to succeed in their futures.
Every year the Criminal Justice classes get the privilege of having Patrice Bolen, from the UVU Police Academy, come and talk to the students about programs and opportunities that are available.
She brings a little friend with her, a mannequin called Collin D. Cops.
It is always fun to see her wheeling Collin through the doors in his stroller.
Thank You to Patrice for taking time out of her schedule to help educate our students.
Fall Break is this week on October 14 and October 15th. We hope that you can have a great weekend, enjoying all of the fall colors and spending time with those you surround yourself with.
Have a great break.
We will see you on Monday, October 18th, and it will be a " B" day schedule.
