Business Law Classes Invited to Court

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Mrs. Ewell's Business Law students were once again invited to visit the Provo 4th District Judicial Courthouse.  Students were able to watch several preliminary criminal hearings and sentencings with the Honourable Judge James Taylor, as well as speak with the Honourable Judge Derek Pullan.  Judge Pullan took time from his busy schedule to speak with students (seated in the jury box) about the importance of the law, civil and criminal, as well as his background in becoming an attorney and judge.  He provided an engaging look at the legal system in Utah and why knowing the law should matter to youth in our state.

Counselors Visit ALC

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

These past 2 weeks we have been honored to rub shoulders with all of the counseling departments of all the High Schools and the Jr. High Schools in the school district.

We wanted to take time out to honor and say " Thank you" to all of them. They are the driving forces to our school and we are so lucky to have them in our corner.

What we have found out through this process was that the Nebo school district has the cream of the crop when it comes to Counselors!!!

Some of these counselors are even willing to get their hard hat on and jump into the thick of things of the happenings here at the ALC!   Shout out to Amy Bond for being willing to do just that.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to come over and tour our ALC.

Principles of Engineering Hits It Out Of The Park

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Mr. Barlow's Principles of Engineering classes are studying the projectile motion section right now. The task that was set before them was to use equations to design and calculate a catapult or seize machine or a crossbow, to be able to launch tennis balls across the room to hit a target. The students then created their own version of "Angry Birds" and went to work trying to take out the other team.

It was so much fun to see the designs that were created and the competitive nature that seemed to come out in even the quiet ones.

Nebo’s Inclement Weather Procedures

Throughout the winter months, there is an increased possibility of school disruptions due to inclement weather.  This article is to give a brief overview of what to expect during an inclement weather event.

Some have asked what Nebo School District’s procedure is regarding inclement weather. Simply put, Nebo School District will be open and functioning normally throughout the winter unless parents/guardians and employees are notified otherwise.

Adobe Fieldtrip

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

This past Friday, students were able to travel to the point of the mountain to tour the Adobe building. They were met by friendly faces and then divided up in groups. The students were also able to talk to a group panel and ask questions about the building, about different career opportunities, and to find out the pathways, they would need to take in order to work at Adobe.

It is always a great learning experience for our students. We would like to thank Adobe for allowing our students to come and thank Ronda Hair for arranging this opportunity.
