These three ladies have been very busy trying to make sure all the students that needed to take the accuplacer tests in order to place in a class, were given the opportunity. Since the start of summer up until today, these ladies have proctored more than 700+ units of math, and english to the students from the 5 different High Schools.
All three, recently successfully completed and passed the ACCUPLACER CERTIFICATE OF TEST ADMINISTRATION test and are eligible to continue proctoring the Accuplacer tests at the ALC.

Ms. Keetch's Pschology clases have been studying the 5 Senses this past week. In conjunction with learning about them, through discussion and making visual aids, the students were divided into 5 diferent groups for each sense, and given an interactive project to help the students understand their senses more indepth.
It was a very interesting experience for some of the students.
It's always so fun to see what will happen next in Ms. Keetch's classroom
The Emergency Medical Responder class practiced then passed off the different emergency transfer carry maneuvers that they may need to use in order to move a victim in an accident.
The students always learn a lot doing this skills test. They also have fun in the process.
Ms. Grant does an excelexce job getting these students certified and ready to be the best possible Emergency Medical Responders they can be.

Mrs. Ewell's class has been examining the role of innovation and entrepreneurship activity to society and the economy. To illustrate the differences in operating under different economic systems her classes played Socialist and Communist versions of the traditional Monopoly game. Rule changes included things such as: All Free Parking money has to be divided equally among players, paying the government (bank) twice the rent on railroads and utility spaces, no private property ownership, and no income tax refunds. Students quickly gained an appreciation for the American free enterprise system and how it helps promote and support entrepreneurial growth in the US.
Last year at the ALC, we were lucky to have the ability to offer new courses. Some of those courses were the different aviation classes. We were even more lucky to get Mr. Mark Halls to teach these courses.
Mr. Halls is one that the students really connect to and who is very engaged in his students learning. With the fun arrival of the new flight simulator that was delivered close to the end of last school year, the Aviation department has "taken flight", and is now the newest and greatest class that most of the students want to be a part of.
Students and parents, just wanted to remind you that on MONDAY THE 17th OF SEPTEMBER, the ALC will NOT be holding classes. Your home high schools will be having an A day schedule and WILL still be holding classes.
Tuesday the 18th we will resume classes here at the ALC, and it will be a "B" day.
