Nebo School Board Appoints Ben Ford as Assistant Superintendent

With Scott Wilson retiring this year, the school board appointed our ALC principal, Ben Ford as his replacement as the Assistant Superintendent for the Nebo School District.

We are so sad to lose Ben, but we know that the District will benefit from his knowledge and leadership skills. He has done so much to help the ALC progress and grow these past 4 years. We are so grateful to have his leadership as long as we did.

THANK YOU BEN!

YOU WILL BE MISSED NEXT YEAR. BUT WE ARE  HAPPY FOR YOU.

As Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Ford will oversee evaluations, school community councils, strategic planning, boundaries, safe walking routes, school trust land monies, principal training, administration handbook, communications, technology services, and the IMC services.

Mr. Ford earned his bachelor’s degree in English and history from Brigham Young University. He earned his master’s degree in Education Instruction from Oregon State University and received his Education Leadership certification from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Ford was recognized as the Administrator of the Year by the Utah Music Educators Association. He was also involved in the Payson City Strategic Planning.

Mr. Ford served as the Administrator for the Peak Center and the Advanced Learning Center (ALC) for the past four years. He served as Principal of Payson High for six years and as assistant principal for twelve years. Mr. Ford taught English and history at the junior high and high school levels. He worked seven years in other districts for a total of thirty years in education.

A colleague said, “Ben is a great leader. He is dedicated to students and is committed to helping them achieve their goals. He is a problem solver and has the ability to make others laugh in difficult situations. Ben will do amazing things as the Assistant Superintendent.”

Ben said, “I look forward to educate, inform, and inspire students and staff in the Nebo School District through the power of relationships and creative minds coming together to provide a solid and equitable education for all students in south Utah Valley. ”

Ben enjoys building things and hanging out with his family. He is married to Jo Lynn. They reside in Payson and have four children Taylor, B.J., Alex, and Jake.
