Teams from nine states, Canada, and including ALC will participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah, on Friday and Saturday, March 14-15. Admission and parking is free.

This type of Robotics is termed a "Varsity Sport for the Mind" and has all the excitement of a high school championship tournament. Winners go on to an International Championship competition in St. Louis for a chance to earn $19 million in scholarships.

The event is FREE and open to the public -- especially kids! Matches run all day every few minutes. Check out the robots up close at the "Pits" where the students who built them will be available to talk with. Teams will compete by trying to score as many balls in goals as possible during two-minute and thirty-second matches. See picture for more information.
