Principles of Engineering Hits It Out Of The Park

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Mr. Barlow's Principles of Engineering classes are studying the projectile motion section right now. The task that was set before them was to use equations to design and calculate a catapult or seize machine or a crossbow, to be able to launch tennis balls across the room to hit a target. The students then created their own version of "Angry Birds" and went to work trying to take out the other team.

It was so much fun to see the designs that were created and the competitive nature that seemed to come out in even the quiet ones.

Some of our visitors were even privileged to be in the thick of things. One of the Jr. High Counselors even braved the "Tennis War" with her construction hat on.  Thank you, Mr. Barlow, for always giving these students such amazing hands-on experiences.
