NO BONES ABOUT IT

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The ALC Health Science classes have been VERY excited to now have an Anatomage table in their lab. It has been such a boost to their hands-on learning experience. The features and ability to do what they can on this new table will help them by leaps and bounds.

This table is like a huge iPad where you can actually take layer after layer off and study each layer of the virtual body until you eventually are just down to the bones.  IT IS AWESOME!

In the featured picture,  ALC student Kristina Rhodes (Sr. SHHS) showing off the Anatomage Table at the ALC. Rich Ainge, Nebo School Board, Seth Sorenson, Salem City Counsel, Kurt Christensen, Salem City Mayor, and Janie Christensen, were very impressed with the table.

TWELVES PRESENT TO THE ALC

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The ALC students were honored to have a presentation today by Mr. Van Twelves. Not only is his name cool, what he does for a living, and what he has accomplished, is as well.

Van Twelves has worked as a mechanical engineer in Manufacturing Engineering in the aerospace industry for nearly 40 years. For the last 30 years he worked for a turbine engine company. He is currently working with a start-up on a light airplane incorporating a suite of advanced safety features.  his work in the conceptual design discipline led to his interest in learning how to create idea generation tools and how to run effective brainstorming sessions.

CAPS STUDENTS WOW SALEM CITY

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

It was an exciting day for ALC students Cedar Gasser and Caleb Fausett. The ALC CAPS Digital Media program, under the direction of Preston Powell (CAPS Instructor), had the privilege of designing a new logo for Salem City. The CAPS students have worked on this project for several months and they were very excited to submit the final designs to Mayor Christensen, the city council and the city employees for approval.

The design pictured was the final selection.

Congratulations to the ALC CAPS Digital Media.

WE LOVE OUR ALC TEACHERS AND STAFF!!!

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

With Valentines Day here, we wanted to let our faculty and staff know just how much we love them and appreciate all they do throughout the year.

So what is the best way to say "Thank you"?!?......  CHOCOLATE, of course.

We set up a fondue chocolate bar for them to come in during lunch so they could relax, laugh and talk with each other. There was a variety of yummy treats to dip in the chocolate and many went back for seconds and thirds.

It was a great way to let those who work here at the ALC how much we love and appreciate them.

Thank you all!

We Love you!

Happy Valentine's Day.
