COVID-19 put a lot of things on halt. One of those things was the awarding of our 2019-20 Classified Employee Award for the ALC.
Craig Harvey from the Horace Mann Group came and awarded Marcie Ford, who is the registrar for the Nebo Online Program, with this award for the year 2019-2020.
Anna Palmer gave Marcie a very nice tribute and Craig presented her with the award and a few treats.

Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 24, 2020 the UVUSA - UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY STUDENT ASSOCIATION held a chalk art competition to help celebrate their Homecoming Week. It was held at the Fulton Library .
on of our ALC students, Kennedy Fordham won 1st prize with her chalk art rendition of Napoleon Dynamite saying, "vote for Willy".

We are SO EXCITED to have Jaime Christensen as part of our ALC Team this year. Jaime is very energetic and very on the ball.
She keeps things moving with the Nebo Online Programs and is always ready to jump into work with a smile on her face.
A little background about her from Jaime's words:
Due to Monday, the 21st of September being a half day, The ALC will NOT be holding the face- to-face classes that day.
We will see your smiling, masked faces on Tuesday the 22nd. It will be a "B" day.
NOTE- the UVU live interactive classes will still be held.
MAY WE NEVER FORGET 9/11. This was a moment that will be imprinted in our minds forever. Some of you students were not even born yet, but for those of us that remember that day, it brings back a ton of emotions. Thanks to the emergency personnel that ran into the tower to save people and sacrificed so much that day. our thoughts today will always be to those who died that day and to the families that lost loved ones.
Free Breakfast and Lunch to All Nebo School District Students Beginning Monday, September 14, 2020, Nebo School District will be switching to an “Open Restricted Meal Program.” Under this program, breakfast and lunch are available for free to all students enrolled in Nebo School District, including remote learners.

School will resume on Tuesday, September 8th and it will be a "B" day schedule.
FYI - Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894.
