Kay Tischner, Tischner Ford Donates Car to ALC Auto Students

Submitted by amy.ewell on

Kay Tischner has been investing in the education of Nebo School District students most of his life. Although he is retired from Tischner Ford in Santaquin and from the Nebo School District Board of Education, he is still looking for ways to be of service. Kay recently donated a car to the Advanced Learning Center Automotive Shop. This donation will provide hundreds of hours of hands-on learning experiences for Nebo School District students.

Nebo School District and the ALC are fortunate to have great supporters like Kay, the Tischner family and Tischner Ford. The ALC students and staff are very grateful for this support. Thank you Kay and Tischner Ford of Santaquin!

HAIR, HAIR, HAIR, EVERYWHERE

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Once again, Ms. Hartvigsen's Class had another out-of-this-world lab.

Her Medical Forensic Classes were able to do a lab where they compared different types of hair.

There was any, and every, type of hair that you could imagine in that room.  Students had fun comparing animal hair with human hair.  They also made casts of hair to see the cuticle in the hair.

Both can be used in an investigation to exclude suspects.

WHAT A GREAT WAY TO LEARN!

Who knew hair could be so exciting?!

Branding For The Win!

Submitted by amy.ewell on

Our ALC and NeboCAPS students were privileged to have Brian Halley, the Director of Right Think Branding, speak to them about the basics of great branding and design practices.  Brian says, "Good design makes me happy. I submit that it makes everyone happy. It makes food taste better, it makes your drive to work better, it makes grocery shopping better, the list goes on and on. I ask as many as will hear, to join me in taking up arms in the crusade of good branding and good design so that all of us will be able to live in a happier world!"

Last night, the NEBO School Board appointed Bart Peery as the Administrator of the Advanced Learning Center (ALC)

We are sad that we are going to lose our current Principal Mr. Ben Ford, due to his being appointed as the Nebo Assistant Superintendent, but we are happy to welcome Mr. Bart Peery as our new Administrator.

We look forward to working with him and getting to know him as well.
