In Nebo School District there will be no school on Monday, February 28, 2022.  This includes the ALC.

 The 28th will be a planning day for our educators.   We are so grateful to the teachers and the hard work they have put into this school year.

Note: If you have UVU Live interactive classes they will still be held.

Five winners will be chosen at random on Friday, February 25th at 8 am MST. One snowduck mold per winner. Color choice is to be determined by the ALC. Winners MUST be able to pick up their prize at the ALC in Salem, Ut.

In honor of Presidents' Day, there will be no school at the ALC on Monday, February 21st.

We'll see you back at school on February 22nd, which is a B-Day.

ALC CAPS Students were privileged to participate in the Salem Hills freshman day event. Our Business & Media Production CAPS students were able to share with incoming sophomores about all of the classes and opportunities that are available at the Advanced Learning Center. CAPS Students passed out swag and treats as they featured some of the programs that they’re involved in at the ALC. The incoming sophomore students were thrilled to learn about our Bottle CAPS drink bus project and they looking forward to being able to participate in the many offerings that are available at the ALC.

Thanks to our CAPS students who did an excellent job at representing the ALC and the CAPS program.  Way to go students! 

A huge thank you to everyone who made the ALC open house a success!  From prospective students to parents, siblings, and current students our building was overflowing with interest in the amazing courses available at The Advanced Learning Center.  Mr. Eastmond had his First Robotics club entertaining the masses, popcorn was served by Mrs. Ewell, and swag was provided by the U.S. Air Force Academy and Utah Valley University.  It was a fun and informational two days with teachers welcoming all into their classrooms to spotlight their programs and hands-on curriculum. 

February is CTE Month and we're celebrating our ALC CTE students of the week! Watch each week for new highlights about each student nominated by an ALC teacher! CTE courses are Career and Technical Education courses offered to students at The Advanced Learning Center.  Courses included health science, computer programming, digital media, engineering, business, architecture, construction, aviation, and more!  Check out our ALC Instagram page for more photos and fun!

A murder victim was discovered along a roadside.  Police recovered carpet samples from the victim’s body.  It is speculated that the victim was brought to the location using a car belonging to one of the suspects.  Some of the carpet fibers from the floor of the car were transferred to the victim’s body.  Your task is to determine if the fiber found on the victim’s body is consistent with one of the carpet fibers taken from the cars of four different suspects.  

The ALC's Aviation classes had the opportunity to hear presentations and ask questions from 2Lt Derrick Dye from Hill Air Force Base. 

2Lt Dye is a recent graduate of the US Air Force Academy and is the current USAFA liaison for Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Washington.  He was able to tell the students about the educational opportunities at USAFA and how students can apply if they are interested in attending college there.  He also told the students about his recent experiences beginning to fly in the Air Force.
