BART PEERY APPOINTED ALC PRINCIPAL FOR 2021-22 YEAR

Last night, the NEBO School Board appointed Bart Peery as the Administrator of the Advanced Learning Center (ALC)

We are sad that we are going to lose our current Principal Mr. Ben Ford, due to his being appointed as the Nebo Assistant Superintendent, but we are happy to welcome Mr. Bart Peery as our new Administrator.

We look forward to working with him and getting to know him as well.

Mr. Peery graduated from Payson High school and received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a master’s degree in Mathematics both from Brigham Young University. He earned his Education Administration License from Southern Utah University. 

Currently, Mr. Peery serves as the Principal of Salem Hills High for the past 10 years. He served as the Principal of Payson High for three years and Assistant Principal for six years. Before that, he taught math, physical education, driver education, French, and Principals of Leadership for 17 years. 
                                        
Mr. Peery was selected as Utah’s Principal of the Year in 2017. He was inducted into the Nebo Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. Bart enjoyed coaching football, basketball, track, and soccer for over 25 years.  He was a head football coach for 9 years.

Principal Peery has initiated a social media blitz that truly engages his students. The students want to be a part of his positive reflections on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. He is known for his hashtags #shhshero, #changingtheworld, #GoSkyhawks. 

Principal Peery said, “Being a principal is the very best job in the world! I have the opportunity to change the world every single day–one person at a time!”

A colleague said, “Mr. Peery is an administrator who deeply cares for each individual student that is under his stewardship. He is constantly striving to be out amongst the students as often as his responsibilities allow. He makes an effort to get to know each student and lets each student know he cares.”
                                
Fundamentally, Bart believes, “Each day, I have choices to make. I choose to be happy. I choose to be positive. I choose to make the world a better place.”

Bart enjoys spending time with his family and playing with the grandkids. He is married to Karolyn, and they have three boys and six grandchildren.
