Branding For The Win!

Submitted by amy.ewell on

Our ALC and NeboCAPS students were privileged to have Brian Halley, the Director of Right Think Branding, speak to them about the basics of great branding and design practices.  Brian says, "Good design makes me happy. I submit that it makes everyone happy. It makes food taste better, it makes your drive to work better, it makes grocery shopping better, the list goes on and on. I ask as many as will hear, to join me in taking up arms in the crusade of good branding and good design so that all of us will be able to live in a happier world!"

Mr. Halley showed students that if they want to build a brand they need to:

  • Understand who your target market is and how to reach them
  • Create targeted marketing campaigns
  • Drive profitability
  • Grow brand loyalty
  • Stand out from your competition

He explained, people don't necessarily buy the best brands, they buy what is communicated the clearest!  He even showed how recognizable brands can be by asking students to identify an alphabetical list of brands, from A-Z.  It may be harder than you think to identify these brands!  The first student to correctly identify these 26 logos correctly by commenting on our @ALC_Nebo and @NeboCAPS Instagram account posts or our @AdvancedLearningCenterALC and @NeboCAPS Facebook page posts will win a prize from the front office! (Limit 1 prize per student)

As part of our NeboCAPS professional experience, we provide students the opportunity to interact with industry mentors and partners in our community.  It's about building a wealth of connections and resources to help students explore new career paths, discover their passions and create the future they envision! If you are looking for a skill building, profession based learning, student led class then you should definitely check out our CAPS courses at the ALC.  We offer CAPS strands in:
