The POP class had some amazing guests visit over the last few months. Aunty Sjoberg taught the students about the hierarchy system in Samoa. She herself holds the title of high chief. Aunty Lamenta taught the students a Samoan song using everyday phrases and gave students Samoan necklaces and flowers. Both aunties brought Samoan food and drink. Last, students met with MMHS Poly students to hear Elder TikTok share a message

SHS welders participated in two contests in the month of January. We participated in the Nebo welding competition where our fabrication team scored higher than all of the participating Nebo District schools. The fabrication team consisted of Easton Van Sickle, Eli Liddiard, and Max Richins. Our widget team competed at the same contest and went on to compete in the USU Eastern Invitational Contest in Price, Utah. Only ten schools were invited to participate. The widget team consisted of Benji Campbell, Tristan Cecil, and Zane Simonsen. The welding coach is Mr. Ostler. Zane Simonsen is one of nineteen total students to have been accepted into USU Eastern’s prestigious welding program. Congratulations to our teams.
