Last Thursday and Friday, the ALC had the honor of enjoying a presentation from Gerald Jolley a WWII veteran. Gerald shared his stories of serving our great nation through battle stories, military warfare tactics, different branches of the military at that time, and the interactions he faced with the opposite countries.

Jolley shared the quote that when we think of our freedoms that we need to remember those who fought to keep them. In the quote he shared “They gave their todays, so all of you could have your tomorrows”. When asked if he would do it all over again, Jolley responded “I would do it again in a heartbeat, for each of you in this room, I would do it again.”

Jolley ended by stating many believe his generation was the greatest generation, but he believes that is not so. He believes our students and youth today are the greatest generation and they have the biggest task in maintaining our country’s freedom and honoring the flag that signifies the freedoms that all those before them have fought to protect.

Thank you Mr. Jolley for visiting and sharing your story with us. It truly was a special moment we will cherish.

Thank you to Alyssa Larsen for arranging this amazing presentation.
