ALC VISITS CAPS
Nebo Advanced Learning Center was privileged to send 6 representatives to Kansas to visit the headquarters of the “CAPS Network”. CAPS, or Centers for Advanced Professional Studies, are programs that are recognized as innovative high school programs. Students have unique opportunities to be immersed in a professional culture, solve real-world problems using industry tools. The ALC is working toward obtaining professional mentors from the business community to support our newly established program. Business, community, and educators partner together to personalize learning experiences that educate the workforce of tomorrow, using authentic learning opportunities.
Anatomy , Physiology, and Grilled Cheese Go Hand in Hand
Sometimes when you have a big review of Anatomy and Physiology, you just need to have a grilled cheese sandwich to help get those brain waves engaged.
Ms. Grant classes are engaging their brains getting ready for a big test on things they have learned this chapter.
The Health Science classes that she teaches are always filled with a lot of brain power and a lot of very hard-working students.
We are so lucky to have her as a teacher and to be part of our team here at the ALC. Thank you, Ms. Grant, For making Health Science learning so enjoyable.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
This year, the ALC was privileged to snag Mr. Alan Albright as the teacher for the Teacher Education class. This is the first year we are offering this class, and the teacher for it couldn't be a better fit.
Mr. Albright brings so much enthusiasm and energy to his class, that the students love to be there every day.
We knew that Alan Albright had experienced many things in his life but we were somewhat shocked to learn just how many things he has accomplished thus far.
Just to name a few of the many:
Alan Albright was a 2 time California State Champion. He was a high school National Freestyle Wrestling Champion and then took 3rd in the world 1971 in Tokyo, Japan.
Guest Speaker in Psychology
It is so neat to see parents who are willing to volunteer their time and experiences to help the students learn first-hand how life experiences tie into Psychology.
Mrs. Keetch classes were privileged to have Mike Insalaco come and share some life experiences. The students always learn a lot from these guest speakers.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING TIME TO HELP OUR STUDENTS LEARN.
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE ALC STAFF
Just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
We hope your Christmas break was very refreshing and that you had a great time with your families.
Welcome back to school and a new 2018 year.
