ALC ANATOMY CLASS VISITS U OF U CADAVER LAB

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

ALC's Advanced Anatomy and Physiology Class and the Medical Forensics Class traveled to SLC to tour the Cadaver Lab at the University of Utah last week.

Students were able to handle different organs and see how medical students and anatomists work on cadavers.  It was very interesting and a great educational opportunity for the students.

The students are told at the beginning, that the cadavers they see are people who have donated their bodies to science.  You could feel the amount of respect for these people who make it possible for us to learn more about the body through their sacrifice.  The students were given the person's name, age, how they died, and occupation. This information made it very personal and made the experience even better.

AVIATION PROGRAM TOURS DUNCAN AVIATION

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Our aviation classes toured the Duncan Aviation Corporate Aircraft Maintenance Faculty today. It is a family owned and operated business since 1950. It is a beautiful brand new facility.  They showed the students the many things they offer corporate businesses that have planes. They can fuel, paint, build cabinets, any form of complete airplane retrofits that someone may want, they also service and bring any inspection items up to date.
