Students in the Engineering Design & Development course (engineering capstone) participated on Friday, April 14, at the K12 Student Innovator of the Year competition hosted by Brigham Young University. The K12 Student Innovator of the Year competition was an innovation competition for students in grades 4-12. Students presented ideas that were useful products, systems or services to a panel of judges.
Connor Widtfeldt's goal for this project was to , "create technology that's indistinguishable from magic to inspire people to find uses of technology they didn't think possible."
The following teams represented the Advanced Learning Center:
Computer Comfort--protective covering for laptops: Rebekah Hair (MMHS), Adam Syndergaard (MMHS), and Kyle Gordon (SHHS)
Converge--accurate indoor localization (3D positioning): Connor Widtfeldt (SHS)
Leverage--device that attaches to a wheelchair to make movement easier: Brendan Bakker (SFHS), Noah Eliason (SHS), and Gavin Deschamps (PHS)
TTop Lights--holiday light hook for gutters: Nicholas Paduano (MMHS), Tyler Christmas (MMHS), and Sam Olson (MMHS)
