Parent Teacher Conference And Open House Success

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Our recent Parent Teacher Conference/ Open House was a success. It was fun to see the students and parents come in, to not only talk to their teachers but to show off their school to their parents.  The night was filled with parents, grandparents, community members, and also District Employees.

It was also fun to see the new showcase room filled with Mrs. Massic's student's renditions of their newly designed backpacks.  If you haven't seen the amazing ideas they came up with their prototype backpacks, come on over, The students are happy to give you detailed information on their backpack. Thank you, Parker

TEAM BUILDING AT ALC

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Mr. Alan Albright keeps his Teacher Education class hopping, and trying to do a balancing act, LITERALLY!

It is always fun to see what this class is doing next. They have had lots of guest speakers and recently did a team building activity showing each one of them how important it is to have everyone focused on the same thing in order to succeed.

Thanks for all of your hard work in keeping these students engaged in learning, Mr. Albright.

Framed Art Given To Aviation Program

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

In day to day endeavors, it is always so refreshing to see those people who are constantly going out of their way to make people's lives better.  Two of these people are Ed and Janice Helmick.

Ed and Janice are the kinds of people who are always looking to make life better for those they come in contact with.

Recently they surprised, Mark Halls Aviation Class with Framed personalized pictures of pilots flying over local areas, to hang in the new aviation room here at the ALC.

This was such a generous gift and is appreciated by the students and Mr. Halls.

Ed also gave Mr. Halls 40 tickets to the Spanish Fork Airshow to give to his students to attend for free.

Fuel Your School

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The start of a new school year is always exciting.  Chevron proudly contributes to that excitement by announcing that our Fuel Your School program will be held again in 2017!

Fuel Your School is an opportunity for teachers to request materials and supplies for their classrooms by simply listing their needs on DonorsChoose.org beginning September 1, 2017.  In October, every 8 gallons fill up at a Chevron or Texaco station in your county will result in a $1 donation to DonorsChoose.org that will be used toward those requests.  Chevron is donating up to $750,000 to teachers in Ada and Canyon Counties this year.
