Pancake Days At The ALC

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

This Thursday and Friday, September 21st & 22nd,  we will be having pancakes for the students.

They will be served before school and also right before 4th period, (the lunch break), both days.

We love having our students here, and this is a fun way to say thanks for all your hard work here at the ALC and Happy Fall!

See you all on Thursday and Friday.

YUM!!

May We Never Forget

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

As this date approaches every year, there is always a reflection and tears for those who were lost.

No matter how many years have passed, nobody can actually comprehend  what happened that very day.

More than two decades later, Sept. 11 remains a point for reflection on the hijacked-plane attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people, reconfigured national security policy and spurred a U.S. "war on terror" worldwide.

May we always remember those who lost their lives and also remember how a nation came together and were united after that tragic day.

The Sept. 11 attacks also stirred — for a time — a sense of national pride and unity for many.

MAY WE NEVER FORGET!

WWII Veteran Addresses the ALC

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

Last Thursday and Friday, the ALC had the honor of enjoying a presentation from Gerald Jolley a WWII veteran. Gerald shared his stories of serving our great nation through battle stories, military warfare tactics, different branches of the military at that time, and the interactions he faced with the opposite countries.

Jolley shared the quote that when we think of our freedoms that we need to remember those who fought to keep them. In the quote he shared “They gave their todays, so all of you could have your tomorrows”. When asked if he would do it all over again, Jolley responded “I would do it again in a heartbeat, for each of you in this room, I would do it again.”
