The ALC has been recommended for accreditation by AdvancED. An External Accreditation Team, led by Sharen Kamp, visited the school on September 29th, 2015. The accreditaion is good for 5 years and will be renewed in the 2019-2020 school year.

Memebers of the accredotation team visited all classrooms, using the AdvancED evaluation tool eleot(Effective Learning Enviroments Observation Tool).  The eleot scores placed ALC classrooms above the average of all observations scores in the AdvancED network of schools.  The eleot focuses on student engagement not on what the teacher is doing.

Students in the ALC's Introduction to Engineering Design class recently took part in a brainstorming exercise where they redesigned an ordinary coffee cup. Students then participated in a “gallery walk” where they gave feedback on each other’s designs. They wrote “I Like…” and “I Wonder…” in response to each idea. This protocol will be used throughout the course to help students give feedback as part of project based learning.

ALC Audio Production class went on a field trip to BYU last week.  We also toured the audio and music facilities at BYU, with help from our guides Professor Steve Ricks and Professor Ron Saltmarsh.

We sat in on a Q&A with Kaskade, world famous DJ and electronic music producer. Later that night, Kaskade performed at the Provo Rooftop Concerts. It was packed. And amazing.

Tomorrow is the deadline to register for concurrent enrollment classes. Verify with your instructor that you are on the class roster before the deadline to ensure you receive the desired credit.

Today is the last day to get admitted to UVU (without a late fee) and WSU in order to receive concurrent enrollment credit for this semester. Once you have completed the admissions process and have been formally admitted, you don't need to apply again-ever! However, you will need to register for courses each semester.

Welcome back for the start of a new school year.  We have been preparing all summer for another great year at the ALC.  Here is some important information for the start of school.

ALC Open House/Back to School  -  August 19, 2pm - 6pm

Come and join us on August 19th for a Back to School Open House.  Come visit the classrooms and see where you will be learning and having fun.

ALC classes start August 20th (A day) and August 21st (B day).  There will be no classes at ALC on August 19th beacuse of the combined A/B day.  The teachers will be here if you would like to come visit.
