On March 1, 2016, all seven junior high schools within the Nebo School District sent students to the Advanced Learning Center to participate in a hands-on exploratory field trip. Students selected two of the following breakouts to attend: Computer Programming, Computers & Networking, Digital Media (Animation), Digital Media (Film), Engineering Design, Health Sciences (Medical Forensics), Health Sciences (Anatomy & Physiology), & Robotics.
Students participated in activities such as analyzing fingerprints, animating a 3D character, creating a 2D platformer video game, creating a music video using green screen footage and special effects, building computers, designing a cable car to complete a challenge with limited materials, and programing robots to perform various driver's education drills.
