Credit Recovery is available at Landmark High School from June 3rd through July 3rd. Landmark will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during that time frame from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Assignments may be completed online. On April 24th, ALC Film students competed at the annual Utah High School Film Festival. This festival is seen as the state championship of high school film and video. With over 350 films entered in various categories, it is extremely competitive. ALC students cleaned house placing in seven of the fourteen categories. Congratulations to all the ALC winners!!!! ALC's Digital Media student, Rustin Strachan, earned an honorable mention in the category of Animation at the Utah High School Film Festival. See his film, "Pirate Assault", below. Congratulations, Rustin!
The Utah State Educational Department held an IT Challenge at ALC April 21st-22nd. Over 20 students took certification exams for Microsoft, Adobe, and other test-out certifications. The twelve students listed below earned certifications.
Varsity Tutors runs a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest. Students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month, and one winner is chosen to receive the scholarship. Check it out here: Varsity Tutors Scholarships
Digital Media student Devin Eggleston has submitted an animated video to the Utah Digital Media Arts Festival competition being held May 6th at UVU. Devin has done a pretty amazing job. Take a look . . .
