Dear Parents/Guardians:

As you may have heard, Governor Herbert and State Superintendent Sydnee Dickson have extended the “soft school closure” until the end of the school year.  Although we are disappointed that we will not be able to work with students in our usual manner, we understand why the decision was made and fully support them.  That being said, we now will need to address a variety of very unique situations.

DO NOT WORRY- HANG IN THERE.

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

To all of our ALC students, please know we think about you and want you to know that we have your back. WE HAVE GOT YOU COVERED!

Do your best, just breathe, and realize that this will pass soon. It will be something that you can tell your children about.

Hang in there!  WE CARE ABOUT YOU!!

ALC MAKE MASKS FOR COVID-19 FIRST RESPONDERS

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

If you walk through the halls here at the ALC you will see they are empty. The only sound you can hear is the hum of 8 of the 3-D printers that are housed here at the ALC.

Those printers have been working non-stop as a call for protective reusable masks for the Police stations and firefighters came. Ms. Ronda Hair and Mr. Adam Barlow have been at the forefront of this endeavor making sure those printers are going all the time.

So far the ALC has made masks for the Salem Police department, for the Provo Police Department, and for the Payson Fire and Rescue Department.

We are so happy that we can do a small part in the fight against this horrible virus called COVID-19.

With all of this craziness that we have been thrown into, we wanted to take a minute and tell you that we are thinking about all of our ALC students.

We hope that you are all well and are doing o.k. with this new change.

Please know that we think of you and hope that sooner than later we will have the halls of the ALC filled with your laughter and learning.

We want to try and give you a bright spot, so we will be posting smiles on our website.

Because we know that a  S. smile

ALC FIRST ROBOTICS TEAM

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The ALChemists (FIRST Robotics Team 3405) competed in the Utah FIRST Regional INFINITE RECHARGE hosted by the Maverick Center in SLC March 5th-7th.  Our team placed 18th out of 54 teams and played in the Quarterfinals for the first time in five years!  Our robot, Bot Ross, was a successful defender and climber and supported our allied teams very well.  The students on the team worked diligently, spending many Saturdays at ALC, creating and building our robot.

Thanks to all the community and parent support.
