ALC Creates Display Case for Students

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

As the students walked through the front door this morning they were greeted by a display case set up to encourage them with a motto to start off the year the right way.

The display case is set up like an old classroom with an old typewriter sitting on top of an old school desk,  with papers flying out of the typewriter. The papers do not have words, but images.  If you look closer you will realize that each image represents one of the courses offered at the ALC.

Next to the typewriter there is a typed note that says, "What "type" of future will you "write" ?, and the big chalk board that is hanging on the wall says. , " 2018-19 student body, "Write" you own future.

First Day Back a Success

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

The halls of the ALC were full of smiles and Hello's! It was so fun to see all the smiles and greetings from classmates old and new.

It didn't take long for students to get into the swing of things and jump right into the classroom dynamics that can always be found at the ALC.

It was so neat to see all of the students and we are very excited to have over 1000 students attending this year.

2018-2019 school year is going to be awesome.

On May 1st, the John Lennon Bus came to the ALC to give a few of our students an opportunity to learn about music and then write a song, get it all planned and then film they music they worked together to create.

The John Lennon Bus has just now released the finished product of the students who were able to be part of this experience here at the ALC: Grazen Breeze, Corrine Christensen, Alexander Davies, Matthew Moody and James Bronson.

Here is the link to the finished product.

ALC HALLS AND CLASSROOMS TAPED OFF FOR CRIME SCENES

Submitted by shelley.heaton on

If you were to walk through the halls this week, you would see many places throught our school with crime scene tape blocking off the area of many crime scenes.

Ms. Grant's Medical Froensics classes have been very busy preparing for their Crime Scenes.

The students grouped together to carefully plan out a crime scenerio, they took alot of time making sure the crime scene was realistic and would give the other groups things that they would have to be careful to take note of in order to solve the crime.  Then the fun began..... they got to set up their crime scene scenerio.

The students put quite the details into their crime scene. It was fun to watch just how in-depth they would go.
